Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) Market by Key Players, Emerging Growth Factors and Applications to 2022

Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) Market is classified on the basis of type, application and geography. A differential thermal analyser, also usually referred to as a DTA analyser, is used in analytical chemistry to identify and quantitatively analyse the chemical compositions of a sample by heating the sample and recording the behaviour of the sample, which includes the temperature and heat flow between phase transition.

As a sample will undergo reactions and phase changes as it is heated. This results in the absorption or emission of heat. These exothermic or endothermic changes in the sample can be detected relative to a reference. Differential thermal analysers are extensively used for metallurgy, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, food testing, cement chemistry, and environmental research. A DTA is made up of a sample holder consist of thermocouples, sample containers, a ceramic or metallic furnace, a temperature programmer and a recording system.

The basic configuration is the two thermocouples are connected in a differential arrangement and connected to a high gain low noise differential amplifier. As the temperature is increased, there will be a brief deflection of the voltage if the sample is undergoing a phase transition. This takes place because the input of heat will increase the temperature of the inert substance, but be integrated as latent heat in the material changing phase.

In today’s market many manufactures no longer make a DTA but rather have fused this technology into a Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), which delivers both mass loss and thermal information. The key factor that propels the growth of the Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) market includes its increasing applications such as pharmaceuticals and food industries. In addition, DTA is used in cement chemistry, mineralogical research and in environmental studies.

On the basis of type, the market report is classified as single-function DTA and multi-function instrument. On the basis of application, the Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) Sales market report is classified as pharmaceutical, food/biologicals, mineralogical research, inorganics and others.
